Description
Your camp is located in the idyllic Jaunbach valley between Im Fang and Jaun, nestled between forest and meadow. Right next to your camp a small stream gurgles and the Jaunbach is only 30 m away. In 2023 our camp was awarded by Nomady as one of the best rated camps! Important: Max. 2.60m width (access via a bridge).
The camp is located directly on the hiking trail Charmey-Jaun. In Jaun, the bizarre Gastlosen, the untouched Brecca Gorge and the hikes in the heights towards Schwarzsee invite you to hike and bike. Charmey also shines with idyllic mountain scenery, an adventure park for climbing and sliding, and gastronomic delights.

Dear Tobias! Thank you for the great time we had at your place! Although the weather was very cool, we enjoyed it very much! There was a lot to do! My two boys made fire the whole time. The nearby spring of water is great too. And the toilet is an adventure at night since you have to go through the forest! Around Jaun there was a lot to see. The ruin is sensational with a great view. The cheese dairy is also great. Getting rolls early in the morning at the Beck was a pleasant walk! Thanks! And we will be back for sure! Thomas

Great location for a short stay in a van! A few walkers passed by as the place is right next to a hiking trail. Plenty of wood available, dry toilet at 2 steps, easy to find. The owner is friendly and accommodating. Great area, wild and lots of beautiful views nearby.

Super host very friendly. It has everything on site what you need. The Jauntal invites you for beautiful hikes. A visit to the cheese dairy in Jaun (mountain railroads) is worthwhile.

We have spent a few beautiful days in the Jauntal. The camp is equipped with everything a camper's heart desires and generously laid out. Tobias and his father came by once for a nice chat and inquired if everything was okay. They are passionate farmers and enjoy sharing their land with campers. Thank you for your commitment and hope to see you again some other time.

Everything was fine, we were warmly welcomed by Tobias, have found the toilet at the first attempt and there was enough wood for the fire at these nasty temperatures. We liked the place, we felt very comfortable. Also the surroundings are great, there is a nice loop trail to Jaun to the waterfall in the village, incl. Vita Parcours, for those who want to be more athletic than running up the hill on the way back. We will be happy to come back, next time with auxiliary heating to be prepared at -1 ° C :-). Super place, even with children and dogs! For larger caravans is recommended to have a moover, because the bridge is narrow and the entrance angle is small. Pleasant contact! All the best

Nice place with fireplace and toilet. We had to look for the toilet briefly, but then found it in the forest and it was clean and well maintained. It has many hikers and cyclists, but they have not bothered us much. Tobias also came by and was very friendly.

A very beautiful place! This narrow valley is ideal for a sense of seclusion. The occasional hikers and cyclists did not bother me. The toilet and the well are very convenient. Firewood is included and several pieces of tree trunk about 60cm high were provided to sit on or use as a shelf, which served me well. Tobias was very likeable right away and I could have listened to his Freiburg dialect for hours :) The only negative point was a constant noise level. The place is not loud, but just not quiet either. Especially a motor (pump?) not too far away that was really running continuously was a bit annoying at some point. For someone who wants to spend a lot of time on the camp itself and deliberately seeks peace and quiet, I can not recommend it. However, if you are looking for a bit of seclusion in an idyllic place and an ideal starting point for hikes or day trips, this is the perfect place! The Jauntal is really enormously picturesque!

Beautiful place by the little stream. Nothing was missing! The place is located directly on the hiking and biking trail. Friendly host. The second Nomady place is in sight. One shares the toilet. But it did not bother us. In the evening there is wonderful silence over the valley. Top!!!!!!

We felt very comfortable on the beautiful place of Tobias! The place is level, was super quiet, in beautiful nature and we could make a nice campfire in the evening. Highly recommended! From the hikers and bikers we have and not at all felt disturbed - you can easily park so that you sit for yourself "behind" the van outside.

A very cozy place with stream, toilet, fireplace and enough wood. The hiking trail passes the place, but it does not bother at all. Like the campers before, we also had some great conversations! It has many hiking trails and biking is also very good! Tobias also came by briefly, a very snappy guy! Merci muchmals!

The camp is beautifully situated, directly at a small brook. For sun worshippers the perfect place. Tobias has also looked in briefly, whether everything is available and ok. Nice encounter. Hiking / biking trail is really right next to it. Especially on Sunday there is brisk activity. Nevertheless, we would certainly book the place again.

An absolutely wonderful and idyllic place. Although located on the hiking trail, it was wonderfully quiet, as only occasionally some people passed the way, especially since we were there during the week and outside the vacations. With the small shower, toilet and well close by, everything you need is there. As a bonus there is the Jaunbach, which can be used to cool down. Many thanks to Tobias, it was fantastic and we will be happy to come back!

It is a great camp. The toilet and the connection to the spring water are super implemented. The starting point for cycling and hiking is optimal! Very recommendable this visit to the Jauntal. :-) The village is very sweet and the nearest town Charmey offers everything you need.

Wonderful pitch with enough firewood - also for the somewhat colder nights! We have felt very welcome and even the partly incredulous looks of the hikers and bikers have held up to the stand. Quite the opposite, came again interesting conversations to stand. Surely our Overlander has also still einwenig contributed to it;-) Super accommodating host - unfortunately we did not meet him personally - but he allowed us to stay longer until late afternoon. Thus, we could comfortably breakfast by the fire, still explore the surrounding area including waterfall and castle ruins in the beautiful Jauntal einwenig and then still during the pack up without any stress lunch....mit fire. The father of the host, superflott and interested in "his" guests, has us quickly briefed - because with ongoing shooting this afternoon, we were not quite sure whether the access road does not lead once in the line of fire - false alarm, he does not lead - but beautifully past it into the seclusion. The cows are all pretty "chilled" and marveled in each case from close range our driving in the field kitchen. Attention. The bridge in the middle of the trail is then really only something 2m wide - as also described by the host. We can absolutely recommend the site as a one-time overnight stay or as a base camp for a slightly longer stay, because the Jauntal invites to veieln hiking opportunities that would be difficult to master in a single day! We will come again...GUARANTEED!

Thank you for your hospitality Tobias! We have enjoyed the stay on your "Gassa Alp" very much: Beautiful, idyllic surroundings, simple but functional infrastructure and with the mountain range of the "Gastlosen" is a magnificent excursion destination in the immediate vicinity! Important for sun-seekers: at the beginning of October, the sun reaches the pitch from about 12:00. We come again with pleasure Tobias!

A very nice place, have discovered the toilet only at second glance. The hiking trail hardly disturbs and at night it is very quiet. For us, however, the place was too expensive. The owner we have not met, but the places are maintained and wood iat also enough available.

Tobias' place is nicely secluded but well set up. Especially cool I found the hose, which is filled from the source. Unfortunately, the weather was not so great, so we had to skip the campfire ;). We come gladly but gladly again to make up for this.

The Gassa Alp Camp has exceeded all our expectations. A beautiful, very spacious place; except for the sound of the cows, the bleating of the goats and the murmur of the stream, you hear nothing, simply paradise! Very practical also the toilet, the outdoor shower and the drinking water, which you can get in the nearby well (fresh spring water). Tobias is a very nice host, gave us tips for hiking, directly from the camp. We will definitely come back, thank you for this wonderful nomady place, a bijou!

A nice place, not far from the shot and yet the feeling of being somewhere in the middle of nowhere. The brook ripples behind the camper, the fire crackles comfortably. After work, there are no more bikers or joggers who look at you in wonder and you are really just alone with nature.

We liked the camp on the idyllic little stream. Beautiful hiking opportunities. The tanning was a bit scarce for our old bones, in the summer certainly the ideal place. Tobias is a nice and helpful host.

Pure nature! Very much Plstz, beautifully secluded and direct Andchluss to the hiking network. What more could you want, everything fit. We were glad, we had already refueled some water. The water you have to take at the overflowing well or from the outdoor shower, I was not gsnz sure if it is drinking water. A hint to this would be practical. In Charmey, a few minutes before the place is at the mountain railroad the Eurorelais station. We liked it and come back with pleasure!

Thank you for the great place with you! We have felt mega comfortable! The hose shower with the spring water is very idyllic and close to nature 😃👍. The trees serve well for the hammock and the large meadow right next to it as a breakfast meadow if you prefer sun in the morning. The hiking trail doesn't interfere at all. When we were there, it was not very busy, despite the summer vacations. The owners are very sympathetic and friendly. Thanks for the hiking tip! The area is very nice for hiking. We will be happy to come back!

Very nice, idyllic, sheltered place. Uncomplicated "check-in". Place well fortified and has withstood the heavy rain. In good weather fireplace with wood and saw available, as well as shower from the stream :) (but we have spurned in rainy weather). "Nature toilet cottage" simple (outhouse), but is also sufficient - protected by the cottage. Tobias greeted us very friendly and explained the most important things. Hiking trails, vitaparcours etc, there would be everything to see. In the stormy night we still felt protected and the mountains and weather offered and a beautiful natural spectacle. Would come directly again - hopefully with better weather.

Super, super super! A really dreamlike spot on earth. Wonderfully quiet on the edge of the forest, with a great fireplace and lots of wood that you can even say yourself - the fun was great :-). The small, ice-cold stream nearby provides cooling on hot days and also served us as a free drinks fridge. Above the place the own spring waits for thirsty Nomadyler. Wonderful. A short walk along the river leads to an impressive waterfall and even a Vitaparcours starts in the forest nearby. If you are looking for solitude (apart from a few hikers and cyclists who pass by and greet you in a friendly way), birdsong, stargazing and pure nature, this is the place for you. Merci Tobias just great, we will be back!

A very nice place. Everything there what is needed, the outdoor shower is refreshing. :-) One has his peace although a hiking trail passes. Has not disturbed. The valley is really great. Gruyères is just 25 minutes away. We will be happy to come back.

Our first Nomady Camp and then immediately such a great place! This is nature camping, although the road is actually not far away, you can hear only birds chirping, cowbells and stream noise, the site that Tobias has prepared, is already luxury, you are not even in the rain in the swamp and yet you have the feeling you are far away from civilization. And then the toilet cottage, in the middle of the "jungle" and yet not 100m away, is already a highlight, with the door open you can watch the squirrels playing ;-) and at night at the campfire and starry sky, really Australia Outback Feeling comes up. Thank you Tobias for your hospitality and we'll see you again for sure !!!

Very idyllic, secluded, quiet and absolutely great camp! Pure relaxation! More than enough wood is available next to the camp. The toilet is very simple in a cottage a few steps away. The well for water is a little above. A fixed bench set was also available. Best thanks Tobias for the hospitality, we will come again!

Just great, the place is the absolute hammer - we would have liked to stay longer. The region around Jaun is generally highly recommended, probably one of the most beautiful "spots" in Switzerland. Tobias is a super nice host and has created a real paradise for campers on the Alp Gassa. We will definitely come again. Many thanks again at this point!

Super place, idyllic location directly on the hiking trail. One hears during the day something the road but otherwise very quiet. Bridge on the access road is quite narrow, larger vehicles need good sense of proportion. Anyway, absolutely recommendable!!!
