Welcome to the Wooden Barrel, back to simplicity. Sometimes, you don't need much to be happy: a warm bed, fresh country air, the crackle of a fire, and perhaps a purring cat stopping by. Our Wooden Barrel is a small retreat nestled in nature. No hustle and bustle, just you, your favorite people, and the comforting feeling of having arrived. Inside, it's wonderfully warm and surprisingly spacious: a large double bed (2x2m) invites you to sleep in, and two additional sleeping spaces make the barrel perfect for families or friends. Everything you need for your stay is here. From the fridge to the coffee machine, from the gas stove to dishes, pans, and cups. Fondue or Raclette? Inside the barrel, you'll find a caquelon with a rechaud and raclette pans for an outdoor fire, as well as an electric raclette oven. Fresh cheese can be purchased in the neighboring village of Mamishaus at the self-service shop (6:00 AM–6:45 PM) or at the cheese vending machine in Heitenried, available 24/7 (Shop opening hours: Tue, Fri 8:30 AM–11:30 AM & 4:00 PM–6:30 PM; Sat 8:30 AM–11:30 AM). And outside, a spot by the fire, even in winter. A table, a bench, plenty of fresh air. Here, you simply let time be time. Hot Tub Offer: Enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub with wonderfully warm water, heated just for you. The flat rate of CHF 80 includes bathrobes and towels, so nothing stands in the way of a cozy open-air wellness experience. From the third booked night, the hot tub is even included for you. Another highlight is our farm itself: friendly, lively. Curious llamas, cuddly cats, cows, and our Bernese Mountain Dogs, who will immediately win your hearts. The Gantrisch region transforms into a tranquil wonderland in winter with cross-country ski trails, snowshoe paths, and endless walking trails through glittering snow. Just get away. Just breathe.
